Teacher, Coach

Anna is a passionate, devoted and knowledgeable teacher. She has extensive education in music both as a singer and a piano performer. Anna has earned her Bachelors in Music Performance from Sydney Conservatorium of Music in Australia and her Masters in Music Performance from The University of Connecticut. She has been teaching voice, piano and music theory to students of different ages, skill levels, abilities and temperaments for over 10 years. With each student Anna takes an individual approach and uses tailored techniques to address their unique needs so they reach their highest potential and feel valued and encouraged.  Along with ensuring that students are mastering the necessary technique, she also focuses on building their knowledge of music theory, harmony and history. Examples of student achievements include: being cast into Off-Broadway shows, school musicals, selected into the CT All State Festival, selected into the National FFA chorus, successful auditions for various universities/ conservatories and winning prizes in competitions.

In addition to teaching, Anna is also passionate about vocal coaching. She is fluent and knowledgeable in 6 languages and challenges her students with selection of pieces in various genres and languages. Located a short train ride away from NYC, Anna offers on demand coaching and warm up sessions prior to auditions and performances.

 

Performer, Lecturer

Anna is an avid performer herself: an artist who has impressed her audiences with her bright soprano and engaging characterizations. She has performed in multiple solo and joined concerts around the US, Australia, UK, South America and Armenia. Examples of recent engagements include performances with the Women Composers Festival of Hartford, a collaborative concert with a contemporary composer at Mark Twain’s House-Museum, solo concert at UConn and the Connecticut State Capitol. She is a lecturer at the University of Connecticut, and was also an invited professor in residence at the Southern Connecticut State University, where she gave lectures, lecture recitals and recitals.

Anna is a strong advocate for women composers and performers. She ensures that women composers’ voices are heard  by including their works in her own performance repertoire, teaching pieces by women composers to her students, and including education on women composers and performer in her lectures.  Her advocacy has also led her to take on an active role in various organizations, for example serving as the Vice President of the Women Composers Festival of Hartford.
